‘Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Nai jan, Muri Muri! (※Muri ja Nakatta!?)’ Reveals Additional Cast Pair, Second Teaser Promo

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Teren Mikami‘s Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Nai jan, Muri Muri! (※Muri ja Nakatta!?) (There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless…) light novel revealed additional cast, cast visual (pictured), and a second teaser promo. The anime will premiere in July 2025.

Voice actresses Kana Ichinose (Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou.) and Takako Tanaka (Hinamatsuri) are joining the cast as Satuski Koto and Kaho Koyanagi, respectively.

Natsumi Uchinuma (Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou 2nd Season episode director) is directing the anime at studio MOTHER. Naruhisa Arakawa (Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman.) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Kojikoji is designing the characters and Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight) is composing the music.

Mikami began penning the school girls love novel, also known by its short title Watanare, under the Dash x Bunko imprint in February 2020, featuring illustrations by Eku Takeshima (Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau). Shueisha published the seventh volume on December 25.

Musshu (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku) began drawing a manga adaptation on the Suiyoubi wa Mattari Dash X Comic website in May 2020. Shueisha released the seventh volume in September 2024.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English in May 2022. The sixth light novel volume went on sale on February 11. The sixth manga volume shipped on October 22, with the seventh volume set to be released on June 24, 2025.
